Chantel Ashton-Rodriguez, owner and managing director of Ashton Entertainment is a 6th generation member of the Ashton family and the youngest daughter of Jan Ashton and Brasil Rodriguez. Chantel has performed many of the acts for which her family’s circus is so famous. Like most circus children, she began performing at the age of two in her family’s Bareback Horse Riding act. This traditional act began with Chantel’s great-great-great-grandfather James Henry Ashton, the founder of Ashton Circus. Chantel went on to perform in Tumbling, Russian Bar and Trampoline acts as a child and a Round Shoulder Perch act with her father. In 2001, her parents created Circus Xsavia, then in 2010 they created Ashton Entertainment allowing Chantel to develop skills in circus production including choreography, promotion/administration, training and backstage management.
In 2017 Chantel started running the family business , specialising in Circus Productions, Circus Arts, Tour Management and Large Scale Corporate Events.
Today, Chantel performs a wide range of circus acts. These include Aerial Silks, Aerial Ring, Rag-Doll, Triple Trapeze, Double Straps, Knife Throwing and Hula Hoops. She has performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and Asia with many of the region’s top circus companies.
